Woman-Owned Law Firm

Built by a founder. Led with purpose.

LOAR PLLC is a woman-owned trial law firm founded by Amber Russell to bring serious legal work, client-centered advocacy, and community impact together under one roof.

Amber’s story resonates with women because it is not only about building a law firm. It is about building something that reflects courage, excellence, entrepreneurship, and the belief that success should open doors for others.

Founder Story

Amber built LOAR to be different.

Amber Russell graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor’s in Psychology before graduating from the University of Texas School of Law with distinguished honors, Order of the Coif, in the top 10% of her class. She began her career at Baker Botts, where she developed the discipline and training of a major-firm litigator.

But Amber’s calling was always tied to people. During law school, she worked with groups serving victims of domestic and sexual violence and individuals alleging wrongful conviction. Over time, she moved from defending institutions to representing individuals and families facing serious injury, loss, and injustice.

LOAR was founded from that conviction: a firm could be excellent and compassionate, strategic and human, ambitious and grounded in service.

“I didn’t start LOAR to build the biggest personal injury firm. I started it to build the kind of firm I believed clients, attorneys, and communities deserved.”

— Amber Russell, Founder of LOAR PLLC
Why Woman-Owned Matters

Leadership changes how a firm feels, operates, and grows.

Empathy with edge

LOAR believes clients should feel heard and protected while their case is prepared with discipline, evidence, and legal force.

Excellence without ego

The firm is built around teamwork, preparation, clear communication, and accountability — not volume or showmanship.

Growth that opens doors

Amber’s vision extends beyond case results: mentorship, women’s leadership, SOAR scholarships, and community relationships are part of the firm’s identity.

Legal Credibility

Serious credentials. Serious case preparation.

Amber has helped thousands of clients who have been seriously injured, including victims of trucking and auto crashes. Having worked on both sides — first as a defense attorney and now as a plaintiff’s personal injury lawyer — she understands how cases are evaluated, defended, negotiated, and resolved.

She has been recognized by Thomson Reuters as a Super Lawyer and Rising Star, by Martindale-Hubbell, by Austin Monthly as a Top Attorney, and by the Travis County Women Lawyers Association.

Complex injury experience: catastrophic injury, trucking crashes, auto collisions, and wrongful death matters.
Defense-informed strategy: insight into how insurers and defendants evaluate risk and liability.
Modern case building: scene inspections, forensic review of electronic data, experts, and evidence-driven preparation.
Client-centered advocacy: communication, care, and accountability throughout difficult seasons.
Empowerment & Community

Success should create opportunity for others.

Amber’s leadership extends beyond the courtroom. She serves on boards and mentoring organizations in Austin and Dallas supporting women attorneys. She is a frequent teacher and invited lecturer for legal, entrepreneurial, and leadership groups across Texas.

Through SOAR, Amber and her husband help provide scholarship support and mentorship to students building meaningful futures. The program reflects a core belief behind LOAR: talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not.

Women in Law

LOAR creates spaces where women attorneys and professionals can connect, support one another, and build lasting referral and friendship networks.

SOAR Scholarship

SOAR invests in students through scholarships, mentorship, and support for both college and skills-based career pathways.
