How These Cases Work

Individual harm, coordinated litigation.

Some injuries are singular events. Others are part of a pattern: a product defect that has hurt hundreds of people, a medication with undisclosed risks, a device that fails the same way again and again. When that happens, courts often coordinate the shared issues — the science, the corporate documents, the common defenses — while each person's case stays individual.

For an injured person, the practical questions are whether your case belongs in coordinated litigation, whether it is strong enough to stand alone, and who should lead it. Those are judgment calls, and they benefit from a firm that evaluates honestly rather than routing everyone down the same path.

LOAR evaluates complex and mass tort matters the way it evaluates everything: on the facts, the harm, the source of recovery, and fit. Where coordinated national litigation or specialized co-counsel serves you better, LOAR structures that relationship properly and stays accountable for your experience.

For Referring Attorneys

A trusted partner for serious mass tort and complex referrals.

LOAR works with referring attorneys across Texas and beyond. The firm manages the case work and litigation expenses, keeps referral partners informed at major milestones, and documents the referral relationship properly at the start of the case.

Referral partners receive a portion of the attorney’s fee, typically one-third, when the arrangement is properly documented and permitted by applicable rules.

Mass Tort & Complex Claims FAQ

Answers before you reach out.

What is a mass tort?

Litigation where many people are harmed by the same product, drug, device, or corporate conduct. Unlike a class action, each person's case generally remains individual — your injuries, your damages — while shared issues are coordinated across cases.

How do I know if my injury is part of a broader pattern?

Often you don't, at first. If a product, medication, or device injured you, or the same company conduct has hurt others, it is worth an evaluation. LOAR assesses whether individual litigation, coordinated litigation, or a referral to specialized counsel best serves your situation.

Does LOAR handle these cases alone?

It depends on the matter. Complex claims sometimes call for co-counsel arrangements with firms leading national litigation. LOAR evaluates each situation honestly and structures the team that serves the client best — including referring out when that is the right answer.
