LOAR PLLC, a woman-owned Texas trial firm based in Austin, has launched LOAR Growth Grants, a program that will make up to twenty $5,000 grants available each year, up to $100,000 in total, to Texas-licensed attorneys who want to launch a firm, grow a practice or advance their careers.
Three ways to grow
- Launch: for attorneys opening their own firm, or in their first two years of running one.
- Grow: for attorneys building an existing firm they own or lead.
- Advance: for attorneys building their own skills, credentials or career, such as board certification, trial or mediation training, AI skills and leadership programs.
Simple by design
The application is short, and no receipts are required. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and the first awards are anticipated on December 21, 2026. Each application is evaluated on its merits, and awards are subject to selection criteria and available funding. No referrals are requested or expected, and referrals, recommendations and existing or potential business relationships play no part in selection.
“Talented Texas lawyers often have the vision to build something meaningful, whether that’s a new firm, a stronger practice or a new skill, but not always the resources to take the next step,” said Amber Russell, founder of LOAR PLLC. “Growth Grants are our way of investing in the profession that has given us so much. Nothing is expected in return. When lawyers grow, the clients and communities they serve are better for it.”
Part of a larger mission
Growth Grants join SOAR College and SOAR Skills as LOAR works toward an annual goal of $300,000 in scholarships and grants, alongside the firm’s Women in Law and community events across Texas, Colorado and Washington. See LOAR’s community programs.
